I'll soon be announcing a campaign for governor of Massachusetts, a campaign to take our future back from lobbyists and insiders, and get Massachusetts working for the people
The presence of Green Party candidate Jill Stein in the 2010 Governor's race is good news for the future Republican nominees and bad news for Deval Patrick. It is likely the vast majority of her votes will come directly our of the left wing Democratic base.
In 2006, Jill Stein (G) ran for Secretary of State against Bill Galvin (D). She received 351,495 total votes, or 18%. There was no Republican in the race. During her campaign she was endorsed by several left win media outlets including Blue Mass Group and The New Bedford Standard Times. BNCordeiro reported that the NBST failed to acknowledge a Republican primary even existed for the December 8th primary.
In the 2006 Governor's race Green Party nominee Grace Ross received 43,032 total votes, or 2%.
In 2004, Jill Stein ran for State Representative in the 9th Middlesex district receiving 21% of the vote. This was ahead of Republican Linda Fosburg's 19% in the Waltham-Lexington district.
In 2002, Jill Stein ran for Governor and received 76,530 total votes, or 3.5%. This was more than 3 times the total for Libertarian nominee Carla Howell.
