Worcester (0.00 / 0)
Konstantina Lukes is running for re-election as mayor and city councillor. You may recall Gov. Patrick publicly chastising her for scowling at him.

I believe (0.00 / 0)
Her family members are Republican then. In Worcester any non-democrat is worth electing.

I like Connie Lukes (0.00 / 0)
If I lived in Worcester I would vote for her.  I encourage anyone reading this who lives in Worcester to vote for her as well.  She is by far the best choice for mayor on the ballot.  However, she is not a registered Republican.

Her Husband ran for office before (I believe State Rep.) and is a Republican.  Her son Peter Lukes is also a Republican.  He was appointed as Worcester County Registrar of Probate but failed to win reelection in 2002.

Holyoke: Kevin Jourdain for City Council.

MassGOP State Committee Members (5.00 / 1)
This list is packed with great MassGOP activists who go above & beyond the call of duty but I did want to point out that Bob Magovern, Monica Medeiros & Bill McCarthy all also serve as MassGOP State Committee membesr.

Non-Partisan question (0.00 / 0)
Are there towns where being a Republican or earning the Republican City Committee endorsement could have an adverse impact on your chances?

Other than Cambridge obviously.

I'd say nearly every one. n/t (0.00 / 0)

New Bedford (0.00 / 0)
It's conceivable that it would be a detriment in New Bedford and possibly Fall River.

We have a Republican city councilor in NB and she is/was active in the GOP city committee but many people simply assume she's a Democrat.

I know that I've seen city council candidates change party affiliations in both Fall River & New Bedford in hopes of getting better results.  I don't believe it's worked.

You mentioned Melrose, but what about Malden? (0.00 / 0)
David D'Arcangelo (although I would spell it d'Arcangelo) is an at-large candidate for city council. Malden recently implemented "pay as you throw," aka the Trash Bag Tax, and David wants to repeal it, replacing it with a single-stream program similar to the one Everett uses. He was on Fox News recently debating Malden Mayor Richard Howard on this issue.

He is an excellent candidate with strong experience and high-quality ideas, but PAYT is probably the biggest one.

My views do not necessarily reflect those of the Ward 21 Republican Committee, the Boston Republican City Committee, or any officers or members thereof.

Malden & Fox News (0.00 / 0)
David D'Arcangelo was on Fox News Channel the other day discussing his opposition to PAYT & the national trend towards it (Dartmouth adopted it nearly 2 years ago).

Off to Marlborough (0.00 / 0)
Wake up everyone! It's election day! Off year my butt! I'll be in Marlborough helping candidates all day. Abandon your current plans and help!

he re-registered as unenrolled.  Is that true or not?

had been making an issue in the race that Abdoo was a Republican.

Lynn (0.00 / 0)
I live next door in Swampscott. The idea that a Republican woman has a shot in today's Lynn election is truly remarkable.

Cambridge (0.00 / 0)

News from the moonbat beat:

The most left wing city councilor--Marjorie Decker--did not get her nomination papers in on time and is running as a write in.  If she loses, that means the chamber moves to the middle no matter who wins.

Hey, its Cambridge.

Wow. Serious News Flash (0.00 / 0)
Did you just wake up from a coma? Decker has been running on stickers for 8 weeks now.
