meh - I didn't like it. (0.00 / 0)
I know you have to get the talking points out but she makes it so obvious that she is reading off of a teleprompter.  Also I think the lighting was poor, and the muumuu has got to go.  Over all I give it a "C"

Something tells me, this fall EaBo is going to feel silly for saying these words

"At this point in the race Team Baker Tisei has $2.25M cash on hand ...... I'd say Baker-Tisei is in pretty good shape for the General." - Rob Eno

Production Quality (0.00 / 0)
Yes, I agree that the overall production quality is less than ideal.  The light and sound need improvement.

I still think this is an important step.  Previous Chairmen never did videos and we are well behind the curve on this.  Going from an "Incomplete" to a "C" is still improvement.

Much like the MassGOP House blog it's something we didn't even have last election cycle.  As long as we're moving in the right direction I'm understand a grace period to work out the kinks.

Stop being generous. (0.00 / 0)
If the GOP wants to succeed they need constructive criticism that is not sugar coated.

That video is not something the Chairwoman of the Massachusetts Republican Party should be proud of. Barack Obama is criticised for his use of a teleprompter for live speechs, at least he is able to use one skillfully. Jen Nassour hung on one for an entire 77 second recording. (I realize I am comparing Jen to the President of the USA, but really, they teach High School students how to maintain eye contact and how to look like they ARENT using notes).

My frustration is that this is a perfect example of what NOT putting in time and effort acomplishes.

C'mon guys, please don't tell me the MAGOP is hoping they can ride an expected "anti-incumbent" wave to victory in 2010, and that is all they'll need.

Thank you North Andover.  I think you hit the nail right on the head.  This vid clearly needed some editing.  Just like the famous "America Dream" mailing/fundraiser thing she botched last month.

How is the word being spread? (0.00 / 0)
How would the average voter hear of this?  Is it something that is being publicized, or would one actually have to go look for it?

There was a press release. (0.00 / 0)
There was a press release sent out to the media along with this video.  I don't know if the Boston Globe etc. will run with it, but it was sent.  New media strategy is designed to complement existing political strategy.  Here is a clip from that release:

MassGOP to Governor Patrick: Stop the Disappointment

BOSTON - In a YouTube video message today, MassGOP Chairman Jennifer Nassour called attention to Governor Patrick's disappointing and ineffective leadership in Massachusetts.

Today at 4 pm, Governor Patrick will increase the sales tax by a whopping twenty-five percent, and raise taxes in the Commonwealth by a billion dollars--after Republican lawmakers suggested a billion dollars in reforms.

I was apparently sent out to everyone on the MassGOP email list.  If you didn't get it that way then well, you need to go to www.MassGOP.com and sign up!  The website has undergone a complete revamp in recent months & was unveiled last Tuesday.

It will probably be posted over at www.MassRootsGOP.com once I can fix my own computer problem & post it.  :)

I thought she did a good job and I give them props for trying to use the intertubes and the youtubes to get the message out.  Yes next time they should put the blinds down on the window and give her better lighting, but don't let that stop you from the good message from Ms. Chairwoman!

"but don't let that stop you from the good message from Ms. Chairwoman!" (0.00 / 0)
I believe Jenn prefers "Chairman" to "Chairwoman."

Other Mass responses (0.00 / 0)
Hey folks:

I posted a video response to Patrick's tax increases that I put a lot of heart and passion into. Please take a moment to check it out. Comments are welcome. I am going to try to do these more consistently on a weekly basis.

Thanks!

This was a really good vid. Jenn Nassour (if she is listening) should consider hiring this girl ..... (5.00 / 1)

I'VE SEEN BETTER VIDEOS FROM OSAMA (0.00 / 0)

Let's list the obvious:

1. Bad lighting.

2. Distracting window on the right.

3. GOD AWFUL SOUND: use a lavalier microphone, please!

4. READING a teleprompter or cards?

5. She's WAY too cute to wear a hippie outfit, speak blandly, ahhhhhggg!  BORING!

6. No smile.

7. No hair or makeup work.

8. Obviously reading, and monotone (oh, wait, I already wrote that)!!!

$3,000 a month to Kauppi Communications, and then another $2,000/month I believe for a consultant?   What a waste, waste waste. Whoever put this out sucks. What, are they former Democrat donators or something?  (Wait, they are!)
Bottom line: WHERE IS THE SOUNDBITE? THE MESSAGE? THE NON-WHINE that the press will pick up on?
Deval promised tax relief. How's that working for you?  Icecream, hamburgers, all meals taxes up 25%.  All sales items up 25%.   Everyone near the border will be shopping in New Hamshire all the time now.  Time to drain the sewer. Vote out these clowns.
