The Massachusetts House of Representatives came back after their summer recess yesterday, to override gubernatorial vetoes and add more spending to an already bloated state budget. They added $275 Million dollars to the bottom line, placing our state budget further out of balance.
You’ll recall back in January one of the first actions of the legislature was to give themselves an enormous pay hike, raising the average pay of their membership by 40%, despite a 4% cost of living increase mandated last December.
They’ve raised their pay by 40%, MassHealth keeps growing without cost controls, and now they’re adding to the budget by overriding vetoed spending.
Beacon Hill is out of control, so in addition to our other programs, we’re launching a series of online video You Tube ads targeted to voters in swing districts. We intend to keep reminding them and educating them about these pay raises. Online videos are one of the most cost effective ways to ensure a message is received by hundreds of thousands of people.
You can view one of our ads here:
In the coming days, we’ll be emailing specific districts, asking you to share the video about your legislator, or a neighboring legislator, on Facebook. If you see one of the ads before then, please like, share, and comment to help it gain traction.
