Spending Your Tax Dollars on Smut

Yesterday afternoon, the state senate passed the radical Health Curriculum frameworks, which mandates our tax dollars be spent on aggressive new sex-ed classes for children. The vote was 31 to 6.

State Senator Mike Rush was the only Democrat to oppose the bill, and State Senator Richard Ross the only Republican to support it. We have the full roll call posted at our Facebook page.

Now the debate moves to the slightly more conservative House of Representatives, which was not inclined to take up the bill last cycle, resulting in its death at the end of the session. We must keep calling and emailing our legislators and spreading the word if we want to defeat it again.

Make no mistake, the left-wing activists will be leaning hard on rank and file Democrats, with allies like Elizabeth Warren and Maura Healey advocating for this bill as well.

But the vast majority of concerned citizens don’t want 12 year olds taught to use “saran wrap as a dental dam.” They don’t want their tax dollars wasted on smut that would make an adult blush. They don’t want our local schools to be forced by the state to not only teach smut, but to buy it, with our tax dollars, for the purposes of exposing our children to it at an early age.

Please send an email to your state representatives, and please donate to our efforts to stop this bill today.

If you haven’t yet read MFI’s Andrew Beckwith’s Op-Ed on the Health Curriculum in New Boston Post yet, we urge you to read it, and to share it with individuals who would their state representatives (a brief warning, it’s graphic). We need to activate more people if we are to stop this bill.

Sen. Bruce Tarr and his Republican colleagues took the opportunity during the debate to file an amendment to make sex-ed in Massachusetts a course parents must opt their children into, rather than the current status of opting kids out if they wish. While their amendment failed, Sen. Tarr and his caucus should be commended for highlighting the primary role parents should play in discussion of these topics.
