We need your help to stop liberals on Beacon Hill from destroying our First Amendment rights and our parental rights. The Committee on Children and Families will hold a hearing on legislation, including House Bill 1190, this Tuesday at 1:00 pm in Room B2. Please contact your legislators in advance of this hearing.
The left-wing activist lobby in Massachusetts is relentless and the liberals on Beacon Hill will follow them wherever they lead. We have already seen this with the dangerous Bathroom and Locker Room Law which allows men into women’s and children’s private spaces.
Now they are pushing our legislators to pass House Bill 1190 which will prohibit any professional therapist, including pastors or religious counselors who hold a counseling license in the Commonwealth, from engaging in any therapy that “attempts or purports to impose change of an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity.”
What does this mean?
This dangerous and unconstitutional law would interfere with the rights of parents, abandon children conflicted about their feelings, and limit the free speech and religious liberty rights of pastors or other religious therapists who wish to help those coping with unwanted sexual feelings of any kind. It would prevent any therapist from saying anything contrary to liberal ideology and require that they affirm behavior and feelings they and their patients may feel is harmful.
We can stop this assault on our freedoms and common sense together. Email your legislators to express your opposition to this bill. Only by speaking out, and holding our legislators accountable will they listen. Don’t just wish for change, take action to make it happen! Your elected representatives need to hear from you.
LGBT activists have made these bills a national priority and they are using them to do real damage to parental rights, free speech, and religious liberty. If you or anyone you know (maybe through your church) either counsels youth struggling with gender identity, or is himself someone who has received counseling for these issues, please email Andrew Beckwith who is with the Massachusetts Family Institute.
