It is not that either Bill Keating or Steve Lynch are worried about any nascent right flank in their district. They have safe seats. What they do possess is a strong grasp of national security and foreign policy issues. They are not ill-informed nor knee-jerk. What do they know that the rest of the one-party delegation fails to understand?

Keating said the bill enhances security over the program to assist those fleeing Islamic State group violence.
The bill by a veto-proof 289-137 margin Thursday. As for Senators Warren and Markey, we can expect that the lightweights at the JFK library might just consider their indifference to security a Profile in Courage. The irony is that the bill has some bi-partisan support which should perplex those who harp about reaching across the aisle.
