The Democrats on Beacon Hill are at it again – defending special interests at the expense of Massachusetts families. Their latest out-of-touch move? Trying desperately to save a Hollywood handout – the film tax credit – at the expense of working families.
Governor Baker wants to phase out this special benefit for Hollywood elites and instead expand the Earned Income Tax Credit, a valuable program that incentivizes work over welfare and helps the working poor in Massachusetts take a step toward the middle class. Even though critics on the left and right agree that the film tax credit has not delivered the jobs that were promised and that the vast majority of the economic benefits go out of state, Democrats on Beacon Hill are predictably standing up for their Hollywood friends.
Sign our petition below to stand with Governor Baker and tell Democrat legislators to put Massachusetts’ families first.
