MassLive has the story:
In a blog written for the conservative website BarbWire, Lively revealed that he is considering mounting a challenge to longtime Springfield Rep. Richard Neal, who is up for re-election in 2016.
“The day after the November election I switched my enrollment from Independent to Republican and am contemplating a run for Congress against Richard Neal,” Lively wrote. “I have not made a firm decision, but am leaning in that direction.”
Questions remain about how Scott Lively will occupy his time in the run-up to 2016. Will he involve himself more in the internal politics of the Republican Party? The uncontested re-election of Kirsten Hughes as MassGOP chair would indicate that he will find no welcome mat for him outside his new home. No doubt, machinations are already afoot to purge him from the party ranks. This is not unfamiliar territory for Hughes.
