Antibiotics like penicillin are wonderful advancements in modern medicine. They have saved countless lives and improved the lives of countless others. They are wonderful. Unless, of course, you are allergic. For those individuals allergic to penicillin, they should not take it.
The same is true for vaccines. Unfortunately not every vaccine is right for every person in every situation. If you are too young, too old, have an auto-immune condition, specific genetic conditions, or on specific medications there are vaccines you should avoid.
I will use an example in my own life. I have psoriasis and am treated for it through a variety of ways including doctors appointments twice a week. Following the advice of my doctors, I am not currently on prescription medication such as “Embrel.” Others with my condition are. At some point in the future I may need to be.
What are the warning with such medication?
What should I avoid?
Do not receive a “live” vaccine while using Enbrel, and avoid coming into contact with anyone who has recently received a live vaccine. There is a chance that the virus could be passed on to you. Live vaccines include measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG), oral polio, rotavirus, smallpox, typhoid, yellow fever, varicella (chickenpox), H1N1 influenza, and nasal flu vaccine.
Avoid being near people who are sick or have infections. Call your doctor for preventive treatment if you are exposed to chicken pox.
Unfortunately for us, big government mandatory vaccination laws seldom have protections written in for individuals who should not be taking certain vaccines. Just a lot of force.
MORE BELOW THE FOLD….
For example, here in Massachusetts our “Emergency Preparedness Law” gives big government unchecked power to do this in “emergency” situation. You know, like a lot of snow.
What would happen to those individuals who correctly follow the advise of their doctors and refuse? Fines of $10,000 a day. Potentially $3.65 million per year and Hundreds of Millions over the course of a lifetime. It hasn’t happened yet, but it is the way the law is written.
Such laws are additionally frustrating because of how blatantly unconstitutional they are. Our Constitution has an explicit ban on excessive fines. While the word “excessive” inherently allows for a margin of subjectivity, I challenge anyone to argue this fine is not.
Much like they did with 9-0 overturned “Buffer-Zone” the Massachusetts State Legislature has once again show reckless disregard for our Constitutionally protected rights.
Vaccinate yourself. Vaccinate your children. Give a hearty 2 cheers for vaccines, but save that 3rd cheer for your Constitutional Liberty so that you may follow the educated medical advice from you doctors instead of the uneducated mandates of government bureaucrats.
