From the Herald:
HANOVER – A race for the Massachusetts House of Representatives has been decided nearly three weeks after the election when the incumbent conceded.
Democrat Rhonda Nyman conceded Sunday to Republican challenger David DeCoste in the 5th Plymouth District race.
More from the Patriot-Ledger:
DeCoste said he received a phone call from Nyman on Sunday morning.
“She was very gracious,” DeCoste said.
“I look forward to representing the citizens of this district regardless of whether they supported me,” said DeCoste, a Norwell selectman.
DeCoste won the seat by 49 votes, 8,332 to 8,283 for Nyman, a Hanover resident. The race was among the closest in the Nov. 4 election.
Nyman decided to concede after DeCoste picked up a total of three votes during hand recounts in Rockland on Friday and in Hanover on Saturday.
