(Brion has been sick for some time… – promoted by Rob “EaBo Clipper” Eno)
The sad news arrived today. Former Billerica state rep Brion Cangiamila passed away after a three year battle with cancer. He will be missed. He always had a great smile.
From the Lowell Sun:
BILLERICA — Brion Cangiamila didn’t pull any punches when he had an opinion on how to improve the town of Billerica or anything else he was involved in, but even when he faced disagreement, he would respond and debate with a smile.
Cangiamila, 52, who counted the Massachusetts House of Representatives and the Billerica Board of Selectmen among the many government and private groups on which he served, died Saturday after a three-year battle with cancer.
“He was very active and sincere,” said Pat Flemming, who served on the Planning Board while Cangiamila was a selectmen. “Whatever he took on, he did it properly. He did it nicely, with a smile, and everything he did, he did well.
“He was involved in almost everything in the town,” Flemming added.
Cangiamila served as a Republican state representative from 1991 to 1993, and then began a stint on the Board of Selectmen that lasted from 1993 to 1999. He was involved in at least a dozen other private organizations and town boards.
A great guy has left us but we’ll always remember him fondly.
