Many of the same elected officials saying they support the workers of Market Basket, have received thousands of dollars in donations from O’Neill & Associates, the firm hired by Artie S. to win the public relations war against those same employees. Tell Sen. Flanagan and other Democrats on Beacon Hill to refuse donations from O’Neill and Associates as long as they are working against Market Basket Employees.

Bastien urges Flanagan to Refuse Donations from Firm tied to Arthur S. Demoulas
Fitchburg- Former State Representative Richard Bastien, announced today that Jen Flanagan, current State Senator of the Worcester and Middlesex District, has refused to sign the People’s Pledge he proposed two weeks ago, and called on her to refuse donations from O’Neil and Associates, a firm now representing and assisting the Arthur S side of the Demoulas family against the workers of Market Basket.
According to the Office of Campaign and Finance online database, Senator Flanagan and other Beacon Hill Democrats have received thousands of dollars in campaign donations from O’Neill & Associates over the last six years.
“As someone who has worked at Market Basket and has family that works there now, I am hopeful that Arthur T. will be restored as CEO of Market Basket. I have refused to shop at any Market Basket until Artie T is restored and the workers’ confidence and culture of Market Basket are restored,” stated Bastien
As reported in the Boston Globe on July 25, 2014, Employees are the losers in Market Basket feud,
“This week, the co-CEOs who replaced Arthur T. at Market Basket hired another local PR shop, O’Neill & Associates. They put out a statement saying they share Arthur T.’s values and are committed to Market Basket’s ‘tradition of excellence and dedication.’ It’s too little too late.”
“I ask Jen Flanagan to stop taking money from O’Neill & Associates while they fight the workers of Market Basket,” stated Bastien. “Senator Flanagan refuses to sign the People’s Pledge that would keep lobbyist and special interest money out of our race. I ask Jen Flanagan and other Democrats on Beacon Hill to put people over money.”
Former State Representative Bastien is a candidate for State Senate in the Worcester and Middlesex District.
