Clinton admits DOMA was trojan horse

Hillary Clinton was pressed by Terry Gross on NPR about how she evolved to favor same-sex marriage, and in the course of defending her prior positions, revealed the truth about DOMA that I have been saying was true for a long time: It was a snow job, a trojan horse, and not a defense of marriage at all!

But at the time, “There was a very concerted effort in the Congress to make it even more difficult and greater discrimination and what DOMA did is at least allow the states to act. It wasn’t going yet to be recognized by the federal government but at the state level there was the opportunity”

See? She totally admits that DOMA was designed to allow the states to act. It wasn’t a “Defense of Marraige” at all, it was a trick, designed to mollify the public and make them think Congress had acted to do all it could. But it was instead an act to ALLOW a few states with liberal courts to impose same-sex marriages without it leading to other states objecting. It was a completely unconstitutional and deceitful act. It directly violated the Constitution’s Full Faith and Credit clause to say that states need not give full faith and credit to same-sex marriages, and they knew it would fall, but they new they weren’t going to challenge it until the time was right.

Well it’s nice to be proven right, as I have been alone in pointing out the purpose of DOMA was to allow states to act.
