Hughes echoes Romney’s worst moment

“There is a process to follow and we are abiding by that” – Hughes, 2014, bullshitting about their power to release the tally sheets immediately. Nothing prevents her.

“I have to follow the law.” – Romney, 2004, unilaterally implementing same-sex marriage in spite of the legislature not changing any laws and the court saying the laws don’t support it and must be changed. Nothing compelled him.

But the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. This is the same lame GOP with the same lame excuse and the same goals. In 2004 it was forcing “Party A” and “Party B” on marriage certificates, in 2014 it’s forcing transgender surgery and two fathers on birth certificates, literally allowing two men to try to create biological offspring together with no female progenitor, a motherless child genetically. I am not even sure Coakley would think two men have a right to do that. Patrick and Warren were opposed to the state paying for sex-reassignment surgery, is Baker to the left of them too?

About John Howard

  • “We declare that barring an individual from the protections, benefits, and obligations of civil marriage solely because that person would marry a person of the same sex violates the Massachusetts Constitution.”

    Compel that…
