A bipartisan group of legislators has signed onto a resolution calling for the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families to release Justina Pelletier to her family.
Yesterday Massachusetts State Representatives Marc Lombardo (R-Billerica) and James Lyons (R-Andover) circulated a resolution to their colleagues. The Resolution called for the Department of Children and Families to release Justina Pelletier to the care of her parents.
Pelletier has been held by DCF for over a year. They took control of Pelletier’s life after her parents questioned the medical advice of Boston Children’s Hospital. The case has gained national media attention over the past few weeks.
Joining Lombardo and Lyons as cosponsors of the resolution, as of this morning are: Matt Beaton (R-Shrewsbury), Leah Cole (R-Peabody), Geoff Deihl (R-Whitman), Angelo D’Emilia(R-Bridgewater), Ryan Fattman(R-Webster), Paul Frost(R-Auburn), Colleen Garry(D-Dracut), Jim Miceli(D-Wilmington), Frank Moran(D-Lawrence), and Shaunna O’Connell (R-Taunton).
The resolution should be on the docket for the next formal meeting of the House of Representatives, scheduled for next week.
