2014 Prediction thread? On BMG, someone predicted Scott Lively won’t make the ballot, someone else said he’d get enough signatures. But is this one of those elections where everyone has to get 15% of the vote at a convention to be on the Dem ballot? Is that only for Governor? Or also for Markey’s Senate seat?

Ahh, I got a tweet from Kayyem to be commit to caucus for her in Feb. So she knows the importance of the 15% rule. I think DeFranco didn’t know about getting her own delegates to go to the convention, she thought the sigs were all it took.

I think the 15% rule applies to everyone and it’s usually gamed so everyone gets their 15%. But it doesn’t matter much as seen in case of Warren for Senate or Coakley for Senate. We kinda all know who will win the primary.

I guess that was the thinking of party bigwigs, and they thought it’d be better to avoid a primary. But DeFranco had fans, and an agenda and there should have been a primary to air her issues, getting the signatures should have earned her that.

That was me about Lively not making the ballot. I don’t see him getting the necessary signatures. I vaguely recall him running for governor before and being unable to do so. I have a post scheduled for tomorrow morning that features the BMG prediction thread.

How many signatures does he need to get on November ballot as independent in Governor race? Can’t be that hard there’s always some strange name no one has heard of.
