Marlborough City Councilor Ruins Christmas for State Rep.

A few months ago it was reported that Councilor Matt Elder of Marlborough was considering a run against state Rep. Danielle Gregoire.

City Councilor Matt Elder said today that he is “seriously considering” a run for the 4th Middlesex state representative seat now held by Danielle Gregoire.

In an emailed statement, Elder, the Ward 3 City Councilor, said he is spending the fall going door to door in the city talking to residents about “various tax increases” implemented by the state Legislature.

In a not-so-subtle tweet on Christmas Day, Councilor Elder has all but confirmed a run against Danielle Gregoire.

One doubts that Rep. Gregoire will be merry upon hearing the news that her votes in support of the infamous “tech tax” and also the automatic gas tax increase will be coming back to haunt her.  Perhaps soon she will dust off her own campaign website (last posted to October 2012).
