Marathon Daffodils is a collaboration of non-profit organizations, gardeners, cities and towns, businesses, and citizens interested in preserving the spirit of Boston Marathon and Boston Strong, while embracing the tradition of celebrating the arrival of Spring in Boston.

On October 3, 2013 100,000 Marathon Daffodils arrived at Weston Nurseries for planting by volunteers along the Boston Marathon Route.

The challenge is to plant the flowers by the end of November.

MassYRs are up for the challenge and have offered to get involved in this great community project by recruiting our members and friends to volunteer to plant the bulbs along the route.

Joe McKenna, Political Director is leading this effort for MassYRs.

Novice to master gardeners are welcome and encouraged to join us!  Bring the kids too – family friendly event/project.

If you are not able to give your time, please consider a monetary gift. The goal to raise $1000 per mile, for 26.2 miles of the Marathon Route is ongoing.

Donations can be sent to “Marathon Daffodils” at The Cooperative Bank, 201 Main Street, Charlestown, MA 02129
