David Steinhof for State Rep. looks to end excessive taxation, spur job creation

Dr. David Steinhof of Fall River is our Republican candidate for State Representative to fill the vacancy in the 6th Bristol district. The seat was formerly held by David Sullivan who recently resigned for another job.  The special election will be held on Tuesday, September 10, along with Carol Claros for State Representative in the 16th Worcester district.

I encourage everyone to read the entire article, which will be published in Wednesday, July 23, 2013 edition of the Herald News of Fall River.

As the only Republican candidate running in the special election for the 6th Bristol Representative District, David Steinhof said he doesn’t think his approach to winning the seat is about party politics.

“It’s about someone who grew up in Fall River, who loves this city and believes the people want to do something different,” Steinhof said.

Steinhof, a dentist like his father and grandfather before him, has practiced in the city for the last 23 years. He said his patients are an excellent cross-section of the city’s population and he’s see firsthand how joblessness and the economic downturn has impacted Fall River residents.

Steinhof believes the biggest problems in the commonwealth are excessive taxation, regulation and litigation, noting the state budget has increased from $27 billion to $33 billion in just three years.
