Seems to me that womb transplants cross a line from medicine over into manufacture, they are in the same ethical territory as artificial wombs and surrogates. and those concerns don’t go away just by using a real womb and putting it in a woman’s body. Medicine to help people use their own organs is certainly a right, and all women have a right to get pregnant and have children if they are able to, even if it might be unhealthy and there is little chance of the baby surviving. That’s a right, but a womb transplant is not a right, no matter how “desperate” someone is to experience pregnancy. We should figure out why people are so desperate and help people accept childlessness, which is not a horrible thing.
