Howard Phillips founded the Conservative Caucus in the the 70s. Before that he grew up in Brighton Mass, was Student Council President at Harvard and was the youngest chairman of the Boston Republican City Committee.
He was also my uncle.
And I have to say that he was a sort of intellectual mentor because into my house as a teenager flowed a stream of gift subscriptions to Commentary, Conservative Digest, Human Events, the National Review, the American Spectator, etc.
Howard Phillips ran for U.S. Senator and also U.S. Congress in Massachusetts. He was the most politically conservative son of Massachusetts of recent times.
