MEMO: The Dire Need for State Welfare Reform

In Monday’s Boston Herald, they reported,

“The state’s top welfare official has admitted his agency doesn’t have the technology to prevent EBT cards from being used on booze, guns and porn, despite reform legislation passed last year prohibiting such expenditures.”

Earlier on Monday, the state’s interim Commissioner of the Department of Transitional Assistance, testified at a budget hearing before the Joint Committee on Ways and Means.
