Helen Hatch, a State Committeewoman from the 4th Middlesex District, has become the first candidate for National Committeewoman.
An email went out this morning to State Committee members, announcing her campaign for the position.
Dear State Committee member,
With the pending resignation of former Lt. Governor Kerry Healey, I am excited to announce my intent to run for National Committeewoman for the Massachusetts Republican Party.
With her departure, we need to continue to have a National Committeewoman with experienced leadership in the party. As a lifelong activist and a State Committeewoman for over 20 years, I am prepared to work with our National Committeeman, Ron Kaufman, and the other members of the Republican National Committee on day one.
In addition to being the State Committeewoman from the 4th Middlesex Senate District, I am also Vice Chairman for the Republican State Committee’s Region Three District. I also serve as a Board Member for the Association of Massachusetts Republican City and Town Committee Chairs (AMRC). I was a former Treasurer of the Woburn Republican City Committee and a member of the Mass GOP’s Platform Committee.
Looking toward the Special U.S. Senate election and beyond, we will need a National Committeewoman who has experience within the Party and with Grassroots activism. The road ahead offers many opportunities, and I have no doubt that with seasoned leadership and a record of success we will raise the national prominence of the Massachusetts Republican Party.
I ask for your vote for National Committeewoman. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have.
Current National Committeewoman, Fmr Lt. Governor Kerry Healey, will be stepping down and is taking the position as President of Babson College. The date of the next election has yet to be announced.
