From the Desk of Tom Weaver – Veterans Assisting Veterans

During the year of our Proclamation of Independence, the new states were at the end of their rope. Defeat after defeat seemed to doom the newest creation of individual freedom and all looked lost. During this period, Thomas Paine came forth and issued these chilling words “These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.”

And so it is today. This coming July 28th, two outstanding Americans, who created Veterans Assisting Veterans, are working to raise money benefiting American War Widows, American Veterans with Brain Injuries and the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Memorial. They need your help…

As we celebrate the 4th of July, keep in mind that while some are deciding when to vote or how to get involved, there are thousands of Americans that do not ask – they just do! And sadly, many never come home and many more are scarred for life.

This is your time to say THANK YOU, for these Americans indeed deserve “the love and thanks of man and woman.”
