The South Shore Republican Group congratulates Peter J. Buckley, who was elected State Committeeman for the Plymouth/Norfolk District.
In one of the most competitive races on “Super Tuesday”, Peter won over incumbent State Committeeman John Cafferty of Hingham, and Duxbury Republican Town Committee Chairman Bill Harris. The Plymouth/ Norfolk District consists of the following towns: Hingham, Hull, Weymouth, Cohasset, Marshfield, Scituate, Norwell, and Hull. Mr. Buckley grew up in Marshfield, and resides with his wife and family in Cohasset.
Bill Harris is a well respected South Shore GOP operative, and ran an impressive campaign. Bill promoted important issues: Investing in technology and Town Committees, focusing on Representative races, and energizing “the base”.
John Cafferty ran a strong campaign as well, and deserves our thanks for his many years of service to the State GOP.
One common theme among all three candidates during the campaign was supporting the “grassroots” activism among Republican volunteers, and emphasizing candidates at the local level, as well as the Statewide level.
We look forward to helping newly elected State Committeeman Peter Buckley achieve these goals!
