This has been an unbelievable GOP Primary campaign so far, and with the unexpected surge of Rick Santorum as of late it appears this battle is just beginning. I, like most conservatives I know started the campaign out feeling quite optimistic about our field of genuine conservative candidates and then the media and the Republican establishment with the help of the Beltway Conservative elites no-less, started picking them off one by one.
In fact you could always tell which candidate had moved ahead in the polls by watching which one started receiving the most hostility by the liberal media, followed by the other candidates themselves.
Although I enjoyed the debates immensely, I don’t believe the candidates ever really understood the opportunity they had to communicate to the public the seriousness of this election and how the country has reached a crossroads that it may never return from if Obama is elected to a second term.
I get the impression that most liberal democrats and some moderate Republicans don’t believe the country is in a state of crisis. And why should they when the only news they get is liberal propaganda communicated by political operatives. (In case you haven’t noticed there aren’t any news outlets anymore outside of Fox News and conservative talk radio).
If they do see it as such, they’re inclined to blame the Tea Party Congress or even George W Bush for the morass we’re in, which is idiotic to say the least. If the Republicans are fortunate enough to win back the Senate and retain control of the House, a change in leadership in both houses will be absolutely necessary to save us from plunging into the abyss, or at least holding off a cataclysmic collapse a while longer.
Strong Congressional Tea Party leadership of both houses will be needed to oppose Obama if he is still the President in a worst case scenario. Or if Romney is able to avoid the same fate most Republican moderates experience at any level of the electoral process i.e. embarrassing defeat, they will need to keep the pressure on him to repeal Obama Care and do something about Illegal Immigration that will prevent America from resembling the California electorate and the Republican Party from ever winning another election again.
As we begin this New Year and take a closer look at the results of GOP voters in Iowa, I’m thinking of my conservative brothers and sisters who began the campaign with such optimism. If you listen hard you can hear the year in review put to the steady pulse of the old High School Football cheer everyone heard at pep rally’s during their formative years. Call it a revelation or just a gut feeling, but on the morning following the Iowa straw poll (and that is really all that it was, I’m sensing this cheer and call to arms will get stronger and stronger throughout the year. The moderate has not been discarded yet, but the Conservative drumbeat and chant is getting louder and louder.
Santorum, Santorum he’s our man, if he can’t do it RP can.
RP, RP, he’s our man, if he can’t do it, Newt can
Newt, Newt, he’s our man if he can’t do it, Perry can.
Perry, Perry he’s our man, if he can’t do it Bachmann can,
Bachmann, Bachmann she’s our man, if she can’t do it Mitt can,
Mitt, Mitt he’s our man….no he’s not but of course we’ll vote for him and support him as he is 100 times better than Obama but there is no need to come to that conclusion yet…
REPEAT THE WHOLE CHORUS OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL WE GET THE CONSERVATIVE WE WANT BECAUSE THIS THING IS NOT OVER YET NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE OR SOUTH CAROLINA. THE MEDIA THINKS IT IS OVER. THE REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT THINKS IT IS OVER. THE BELTWAY CONSERVATIVE-ELITES THINK IT IS OVER, BUT WE’RE GOING TO GET OUR CONSERVATIVE AND WE REFUSE TO SETTLE FOR A MODERATE EVEN IF WE HAVE TO WRITE IN SARAH PALIN ON ELECTION DAY!
Happy New Year folks and keep the faith!
