Scott Brown Hosts Job Fair at Worcester State University

Scott Brown’s Senate office released the following:

Today, U.S. Senator Scott Brown hosted a jobs fair at Worcester State University that connected over 2,000 job seekers with 82 employers from across the region.

In October 2011, Senator Brown held a jobs fair at Roxbury Community College that attracted 2,000 job seekers and 60 Massachusetts employers. The strong interest in that event prompted Senator Brown to plan today’s jobs fair to bring together motivated and talented candidates with employers in the Greater Worcester region.

Senator Brown stopped by Worcester State University to offer words of encouragement to job seekers and thank the employers that attended.

“No matter the size of the employer or the level of the future employee seeking work, the goal of today’s jobs fair is simple: to help job seekers improve their chances of finding a job in a tough economy,” said Senator Brown. “Job growth begins at home in the Bay State, not in Washington. The more opportunities that job seekers have for a face to face meeting with potential employers the better their chances are of finding work.”

In organizing today’s jobs fair Senator Brown focused on bringing together a wide range of Massachusetts employers in hopes of matching them with job seekers. Large companies, small companies, hospital groups, and small, localized trade associations were all represented.

This is a smart move for Senator Brown.  He’s putting actions behind his words. Many who are considering attending this fair should consider using this free builder to help bring their resume up to standards before the event. After the jump is a listing of all the companies that attended.
