Christie to Endorse Romney Ahead of Debate

Good News I think from the  NY Times

LEBANON, N.H. – A week after turning down the chance to seek the Republican presidential nomination, Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey is poised to endorse the candidacy of Mitt Romney on Tuesday afternoon here, just hours before the party’s candidates gather for another debate.

The endorsement by Mr. Christie, which was confirmed by three Republican officials, is the latest move by Mr. Romney to consolidate support of the Republican establishment. The support of Mr. Christie could also offer a significant boost to Mr. Romney from conservative populists and others who are among the New Jersey governor’s biggest supporters.

Mr. Christie’s support for Mr. Romney, which will be announced when they appear together at 3 p.m., follows several of his top contributors in signing up with the Romney campaign. His backing was seen as one of the most coveted endorsements, given his popularity and ability to serve as a surrogate across the country.
