(Romney wins…… – promoted by Rob “EaBo Clipper” Eno)
Thank you to everyone who came to the Bristol and Plymouth GOP Presidential Straw Poll. About 60 Republicans from around the area turned out to cast their vote and hear from a great line-up of guest speakers.
The results were as follows:
- Mitt Romney – 30%
- Herman Cain – 19%
- Mitch Daniels – 14%
- Tim Pawlenty – 14%
- Write-ins – 12%
- Michele Bachmann – 7%
- Sarah Palin – 2%
- Ron Paul – 2%
The write-ins went for Chris Christie (3), Allen West (2) and Rick Perry (1). John Bolton, Newt Gingrich, John Huntsman, Gary Johnson, and Rick Santorum were listed on the ballot, but received no votes.
In addition to voting for their favorite candidate, the straw poll participants voted on 3 ballot questions.

Yes – 81% | No – 19%
2. Should the Republican Party support the effort to require individuals to show a valid identification before they can vote?
Yes – 100%
3. Currently, Massachusetts delegates to the Republican National Convention are apportioned based on the results of the Presidential Primary. Should Massachusetts be an “all or nothing” state where the primary winner receives all delegates?
Yes – 49% | No – 51%
Congratulations to raffle winners Matt Moniz and Mike Staples who each won an autographed copy of U.S. Senator Scott Brown’s book, Against All Odds.
