Deval’s recovery hit a speedbump
Mass. jobless rate rises slightly to 8.2 percent in Nov.
The Massachusetts unemployment rate was 8.2 percent in November, up from 8.1 percent the previous month, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development said today.
The November unemployment rate was the first increase for the state in 10 months.
The state’s current unemployment rate of 8.2 percent for November compares with the current national unemployment rate of 9.8 percent.
The preliminary November job estimates showed a decrease of 8,600 jobs for Massachusetts, with most of the losses in the leisure and hospitality sector.
