How about another special election??

(#33?  Potential candidates should start lining up support now. – promoted by Paul R. Ferro)

Could Natick, Millis, and Sherborn see a 3rd special election in just over a year?  If Rep. David Linsky is appointed as Middlesex Sheriff, the answer will be yes.

State Rep. David Linsky said yesterday he has been approached by several law enforcement officials asking him to consider replacing Middlesex Sheriff James V. DiPaola

Other officials in the region could not speculate on who else might be a candidate for the job.

In January, this disctict voted for Scott Brown.  In May it voted for Richard Ross.  It is not an easy district for a GOP candidate (only statewide win on Nov 2nd was Mary Z), but it is possible.

  • our party did very, very well once a special election is waged. Brown won his State Senate seat in a well fought special. this is where we can concentrate on building the party and making real strides. Don’t forget, the jobs losses at Raytheon, the probation scandal, the middlesex sheriff debacle, now MASSDEVELOPMENT is seeking compensation increases while people are losing unemployment benefits. Pray that we have special elections—we’ll clean up IF we run good campaigns.

Chris Resmini?  His write in campaign did very well.  I know a lot of people in Sherborn looking for “change”.

  • If the rumor holds true and Rep. Linsky is appointed as the next Sheriff for Middlesex County, we lost a great opportunity by not contesting this seat in the last election. If this seat was contested by a strong candidate, the same person could have hit the ground running with a pre-existing organization and name recognition. However, even an average candidate would have allowed the next GOP challenger to start from a stronger position in terms of voter ID and organization.

Ran a great Write In campaign in the primary.  He got gipped – a few votes that were denied, I believe, in Natick.  In the two weeks it took Natick to decide he did not make the ballot, he had the beginnings of a great campaign with lots of grassroots support.  Watch for him – or go find him and encourage another run.

  • Even Deval isnt stupid enough to make that move.  Then again he was going to hire Maid Marian Walsh.

  • This is my first time i visit here. I discovered so numerous interesting stuff in your web blog especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all of the enjoyment here! maintain up the great work.

  • Sherborn and Millis are very doable, however Natick makes this district almost impossible to win, considering it’s VERY blue and represents about 13,000 of the 18,000 votes.
