Thank you to all of you who have supported our campaign over the past several months. It has been great to see the support and enthusiasm of people around this district and around this country who want to see Barney Frank retired.
We have a real opportunity this year to hold him accountable for his record and to remove one of the key architects of the disastrous policies in Washington and I ask for your help to do that.
I spoke with Earl Sholley last night and he was extremely gracious and positive and I want to thank him for that. We agreed that we would ask our supporters to remove anything negative that had been posted here or elsewhere.
Campaigns are obviously competitive and in the heat of competition positions can get distorted and rhetoric can be more negative than it should be. I’m sure both sides feel like the other side has been unduly negative or unfair but I think we’re all united in our desire to see Barney defeated.
While I would appreciate everyone’s support I understand that some of you may not be able to actively support me but I ask that you at least not work against me. Likewise, I hope that none of my supporters holds any continued umbrage with Earl Sholley or his supporters and I would ask you to please take down, if possible, any negative comments about him here or elsewhere.
I don’t believe we have any on FaceBook or Twitter but if we do have something there or elsewhere, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll take care of it. We will maintain decideforyourself.org as a domain for posting Barney Frank material but all current content should be removed very shortly.
Once again, I thank you all for your help in this race and I ask those of you who may have supported Earl to try to keep an open mind about our campaign. This race will come down to a small number of votes and I hope you can consider voting for me in November even if you aren’t able to actively support me in the interim.
Although we may not agree on all the issues, we’re all working to keep this nation great, and I thank you all for that.
