The National Republican Congressional Committee, the party organization dedicated to electing Republicans to the U.S. House of Representatives, is expanding their nationwide advertising buy to include supporting Jeff Perry in the Massachusetts 10th Congressional District.
The National Republican Congressional Committee plans to expand its TV ad buys to six new districts over the next week, including several that were not considered promising pickup opportunities until recently.
It’s a sign of the NRCC’s growing confidence, but also an attempt to stretch the resources of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee by widening the playing field beyond the top tier of competitive races.
The open seats in the NRCC’s crosshairs include the Cape Cod-area 10th District seat where Rep. Bill Delahunt of Massachusetts is retiring after seven terms and Washington state’s vacant 3rd District seat, where Rep. Brian Baird is retiring.
This is yet another sign that Jeff Perry is the best opportunity to sent a Republican from Massachusetts to Congress for the first time in nearly a generation.
