Star Spangled Evening to benefit the Bedford VA Hospital

Waltham – On Thursday, September 2, 2010, Gold Star Daughter, and Blue Star Mother, Sandi Martinez will be hosting an event to benefit the Bedford VA Hospital.  The event, entitled Star Spangled Evening will be held at the Chateau Restaurant at 195 School Street Waltham, beginning at 6:30 PM.

Special guests include Rush Radio’s Jeff Katz and Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Thomas Hudner.  In addition, Past Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Robert Fairbairn will be featured along with Waltham VFW Post Commander John Reid and Sr. Vice-Commander Joseph Strazzullo

“I am honored to take some time out of a busy campaign to say ‘thank you’ to the men and women who sacrifice so much for us” said Martinez, a candidate for State Senate in the Third Middlesex District.  “For this evening, I will put aside politics to focus squarely on our nation’s veterans.  My goal is to raise a great deal of money in support of the VA Hospital in Bedford.”

The Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital (Bedford VA) consists of a 500+ bed facility located in Bedford, MA. It includes a Veterans Community Care Center, Vietnam Veterans Outreach Center in Lowell, MA, and Veterans Day Activity Center in Winchendon, MA. Bedford VA also has four Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) located in Lynn, Haverhill, Gloucester and Fitchburg, MA.
