Senator Brown endorses Karyn Polito for state treasurer

To headline Aug. 25 event for Polito at Boston’s Liberty Hotel

BOSTON – United States Senator Scott Brown (R-Mass.) is lending his support to his former colleague and Republican candidate for state treasurer, Rep. Karyn Polito.

Brown will officially announce his support for Polito in Boston on August 25, where he will host an evening fundraiser for Polito’s campaign at the Liberty Hotel.

“With Senator Brown’s election, we told Washington we’re tired of wasteful spending, higher taxes and big government. Now we have a chance to send that same message to the State House,” said Polito. “Scott Brown’s election to the United States Senate in January signified a new beginning for Massachusetts because it represents a break from the politics of the past, which has given us deficits, high taxes and fewer jobs. I am grateful for Senator Brown’s support of my campaign and I appreciate his assistance.”

Karyn Polito is the Republican candidate running for the office of state treasurer. A former selectman and lottery commissioner, she currently serves as a state representative for the 11th Worcester District. An attorney by trade, she helps run a century-old family business that specializes in commercial real estate development and resides in her hometown of Shrewsbury with husband Steve and two children ages 5 and 7.
