(If only we didn’t waste Trillions on bailouts and “stimulus.” – promoted by Mike “DD4RP” Rossettie)
Alan Greenspan–one of the original disciples of Ayn Rand–is calling for the repeal of ALL tax cuts passed in 2001 and 2003.
For me, this is the money quote:
“I’m in favor of tax cuts, but not with borrowed money,”
Greenspan apparently realizes that the tired cliches of tax cuts as the solution for everything is an intellectually indefensible argument, given the realities of today.
Greenspan is really talking about the elephant in the room with regards to the flawed contradictions embraced by modern conservative activists, in that they claim to be against deficits (or at least make that claim when they are out of power), yet embrace deficit inducing tax cuts as a solution to the problem.
I don’t expect anyone here to concede this fundamental flaw in their thinking–rigid ideology distorts reality–but independent minded voters who have been experiencing this disconnect of so-called deficit hawks calling for more deficit inducing tax cuts as a solution for many election cycles, understand what is happening.
