NRCC: Contender Status

( – promoted by Mike “DD4RP” Rossettie)

I want to thank all of you that are supporting this campaign.  I'm proud to announce that the NRCC has issued the following press release this morning about our campaign reaching 'Contender' status.  I want you to know that we are reaching our goals, each and every day, because of your hard work and dedication to building this organization.

Washington– The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) announced today that Republican Jeff Perry (MA-10) has reached ‘Contender’ status as part of its Young Guns program. ‘Contender’ status is the second step in the three-level program. Perry now faces a new set of benchmarks to reach ‘Young Gun’ status in his bid to represent Massachusetts’ 10thCongressional District, an open seat that is currently held by retiring Democrat Bill Delahunt.

Founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Paul Ryan (R-WI), the Young Guns program is a member-driven organization dedicated to electing open-seat and challenger candidates nationwide. By achieving ‘Contender’ status, Perry has already demonstrated his ability to build a successful campaign structure and achieve vital fundraising goals.

“Jeff Perry has met a series of rigorous fundraising and campaign goals that will go a long way in helping to put this seat in the Republican column,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX). “Jeff is part of a strong and growing pool of candidates who are frustrated with the Democrat majority’s big-government ways and aren’t willing to stand by any longer.  With such partisanship and reckless spending coming out of Washington, voters in Massachusetts are ready for new leadership.”

Perry is proudly serving his fourth term as a Massachusetts State Representative for the Fifth Barnstable District, where he served alongside his friend and now United States Senator Scott Brown.  In addition to representing the Barnstable District, Perry is a partner at the law firm of Flannigan and Perry P.C., having earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from the New England School of Law where he was presented with the prestigious Dean Timothy J.Cronin, Jr. Award for his outstanding public service. In addition to his work as an attorney and public servant, Perry teaches at Cape Cod Community College.

Jeff Perry now faces a new set of rigorous goals that will elevate him to the top level of the Young Guns program and help him build a competitive, effective and winning campaign.
