Joe Sestak defeats Arlen Specter in the Pennsylvania Democratic Primary. With 63% of precincts reporting: Sestak 52.6%, Specter 47.4%
Mark Critz (D) defeated Tim Burns (R) in the special election for US Congress in the PA-12 district. With 99% of precincts reporting: Critz 43%, Burns 45%. Both candidates won their congressional primaries for this race on the same day and will face off again in November.
Sen. Blanche Lincoln edged LG Bill Halter by a 44.6% to 42.5% margin in the Arkansas Democrat Senate primary. However, with no candidate gaining 50% of the vote, a run-off election will take place on June 8th
John Boozman defeated a crowded field of candidates in the Arkansas Republican Senate primary gaining 53% of the vote and will avoid a run-off. Jim Holt finished in second place with just 17% of the vote.
