Tonight, Reading’s Town Meeting voted to impose the local options meals tax upon the town. In order to repeal Town Meeting’s vote, I need to get 3% of the registered voters to sign a petition within 7 days to force the issue to ballot for the voters to decide.
3% of the voters in Reading is about 500 people. From speaking with the voters on my campaign for state representative, the people are telling me that they do not want the meals tax. I am confident that I can get 3% of the voters to sign the petition, but I need help to do it within 7 days.
You can help by getting 10 signatures. I have the petition ready to distribute. If you can help, you can email me at email@example.com.
