Yarmouth, MA. – Today, former Republican State Representative Thomas George formally endorsed Eric Steinhilber for State Senate in the Cape and Islands district. George served the Towns of Yarmouth, Dennis, and Brewster as State Representative from 1997 to 2005 and is credited with creating the Cape Cod Land Bank, the pre cursor to the Community Preservation Act. In addition, he is Past President of the Cape Cod Republican Club.
“Eric Steinhilber has worked in the community and learned that we need a new approach for representing this district,” said George,” He will listen to all commentary then make decisions based on the needs of all his constituents. He realizes we cannot continue with the old procedures and practices which have resulted in the economic condition under which we now labor.”
“Tom has been a strong, respected, and effective voice for the people of the Cape and Islands. While in the legislature, he was a leader in the fight for low taxes, fiscal responsibility, and pro-job growth policy. His service in both the public and private sector has, and will continue to be, an asset to the Cape and Islands and I am deeply honored to have his support,” Steinhilber said.
Eric Steinhilber lives in Barnstable with his wife and two small children. He is a Realtor and the Development Director for the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound. He is the Former Vice-Chairman of the Barnstable Economic Development Commission and Immediate Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Hyannis. He currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Barnstable Republican Town Committee and as an Executive Board Member of the Cape Cod Republican Club.
