  • Cliff:

I think I found an error in the matrix that is on the http://www.votecorevalues.org site relative to Charlie Baker. I’ve personally heard Charlie respond to a question relative to the second amendment, thus the want to clarify what is on the site that you referenced. Essentially what I heard Chrlie say in his response to the second amendment question is repeated on a website called northeastshooters.com. See below.

    Question for Charlie:

My question for you is as follows: What is your stance on the 2nd amendment and what changes would you like to see regarding the 2nd amendment here in massachusetts?

    Response from Charlie:

Thank you for taking the time to send me a question.

I believe gun ownership is an individual, not a collective, right. I support the right of law-abiding citizens to responsibly own firearms, whether for hunting, sport, collecting or for personal protection. Massachusetts needs to do a better job of enforcing the laws we already have on the books, and treating the commission of a crime with a gun as the serious offense that it is.

I appreciate your taking the time send me your question. Please continue to monitor my website for additional information about my policies in the coming months. I look forward to hearing from you again.

    Charlie

  • (Margaret Fuller was a philosophical author.  Wwhen she issued a statement saying that she ‘had accepted the Unvierse’, Thomas Carlysle said to a friend, ‘Egad!  She’d BETTER!’)

I believe gun ownership is an individual, not a collective, right. What the heck does THAT mean, exactly?  A swipe at citizen militias?  Rod and gun clubs?  Only the Army and the Police own guns collectively, so what is he talking about?

I support the right of law-abiding citizens to responsibly own firearms, whether for hunting, sport, collecting or for personal protection. The Supreme Court and the Constitution backs you on this, you daredevil!

Massachusetts needs to do a better job of enforcing the laws we already have on the books, and treating the commission of a crime with a gun as the serious offense that it is. We do a pretty good job on treating gun wielders like criminals, regardless of intent.  Where are you on mandatory locks, on police chiefs who blanket refuse to issue permits, on no-gun zones gerrymandered to include entire towns – things like THAT?

When you want the obvious stated, with a nice boilerplate wrapping, there is no finer purveyor than TEAM BAKER!

  • The Massachusetts gun laws suck.  Why do law abiding citizen’s have to cough up $100 every 4 years to get a license? It is a right not a privilege if it cost the government money to provide us access to the rights so be it then it ought to come out of the same tax money that pays our state legislature and workers.

  • What is the criteria used to determine whether one is a constitutionalist (limited government)?  Also, is it measured against the US constitution or the Massachusetts constitution?

    Great site.

What happened at the debate today?

  • I didn’t care if Mihos made it to the primary. I thought it actually would help out th Baker campaign. However, I honestly now don’t want Mihos to get through just so Cliff can end this madness and stop posting daily about Baker/Mihos.

I hope Mihos gets 7% next week.
