Lamb will vote to Repeal and Replace

McGovern betrayed the people

Holliston, MA…Today Marty Lamb, Republican candidate for Congress in Massachusetts Third District, announced that he will vote to repeal and replace the national health care bill forced through Congress last night.

“When are our leaders going to start listening to the people?  Last January district voters sent a resounding message with the election of Scott Brown.  It was clear to every one except our elected leaders that the people do not like this bill.  Our Congressman Jim McGovern turned his back on us as he not only voted for the bill but actively participated in the House floor management,” said Lamb.

The United States has the best health care in the world. People come to the US, Massachusetts in particular, from the world over to take advantage of the professional care and technologies we have to offer. An overwhelming majority of Americans are happy with the health care and health insurance they currently have.

“There is no denying that there are problems in our current health care system. Insurance premiums as well as costs are skyrocketing year after year. Medicaid and Medicare are starting to be refused by private practices because of the low government reimbursement rate and hospitals are going bankrupt across our state.  There is very little in this bill addresses the cause of these problems,” stated Lamb.  “Where are the provisions lowering costs?  Where are the provisions demanding tort reform?  This bill will be a costly disaster just like the Massachusetts plan where insurance premiums are rising faster than any other state.”

“Congressman Jim McGovern no longer represents the interest of the people of the third district.  He answers to only Speaker Nancy Pelosi,” said Lamb.  “My priority will be the people I represent not the DC political machine.”

Later this week Lamb will be formally announce his candidacy at the Doubletree Hotel, 5400 Computer Drive, Westborough Massachusetts on Friday March 26, 2010 at 7:00 PM.
