Today on This Week with Barbara Walters, panelist Paul Krugman declared that while voters vote for individuals, it is only the party designation (R or D) that matters.
I could not disagree more. One of the lessons that candidates at all levels in 2010 should take away from Scott’s win is that independence from the party is one of the keys to victory. Voters are tired of partisan politics and are looking for dialog and compromise without bribery.
