As I leave warm and sunny Massachusetts for my annual week in Maine for some snow and fresh air, I saw this in the Lincoln County News (and yes, they ARE all Republicans):
BANGOR, Maine (AP) — The former longtime president of Husson University has filed the necessary paperwork in preparation for plans to seek the Republican nomination for governor.
William Beardsley served at the helm of the Bangor school from 1986 until he stepped down Dec. 31. He tells the Bangor Daily News he expects to make a formal announcement about his candidacy later this week.
In all, more than 20 gubernatorial candidates have registered for the race. The party primaries are held in June, and the general election is in November.
That’s what I’m talkin’ about!
(I voted for Scott already at Town Hall)
