According to the Wall Street Journal Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is in trouble for his renomination. The current tally has 40 Senators voting in favor and 17 voting against. Several Senators have announced their intention to filibuster which could raise the votes needed to 60.
There appears to be an anti-establishment “Right-Left” coalition building against Bernanke from both parties. Sanders (VT) and Feingold (WI) hve joined Republicans Bunning (KY) and DeMint (SC) in opposition. A vote is expected by the end of the week.
