Clerk claims Lantigua’s ‘girlfriend’ gave city supplies to his campaign
By Jill Harmacinski
LAWRENCE – A five-month-old harassment complaint filed with city attorneys alleges that William Lantigua’s “girlfriend” gave city-bought office supplies to his campaign and threatened to have City Hall workers fired when her “boyfriend” was elected mayor.
Dora Marco, a clerk in the city’s personnel office, filed the complaint Aug. 10 against Lorenza Ortega, the Personnel Department’s confidential secretary. Marco was one of 10 people laid off by Lantigua on Friday and her grievance remains unresolved.
“I have seen office supplies that I ordered for our office with our budget being given to Representative Lantigua. I have seen Lorenza working during her regular work day on campaign calendars, other things for Representative Lantigua,” Marco wrote.
Can November get here early enough?
