MassGOP Senate Caucus Letter in Support of Richard Tisei for Lt. Gov.

( – promoted by EaBo Clipper)

I assumed that many of my RMG friends probably received this same letter in today’s mail from the various members of the MassGOP Senate Caucus who wrote in unanimous support of Minority Leader Richard Tisei for Lt. Governor.

I’ve tried to reproduce it here FYI.  You can blame me for any typos.  🙂

Dear Friend,

We wanted to write to you to introduce a friend and colleague of ours – Senator Richard Tisei.

We wanted you to know about the great job Richard has been doing battling Deval Patrick and the democrats on Beacon Hill as our Republican Leader in the State Senate.

Last week, Richard announced his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor on a ticket with Charlie Baker.

We have known Richard for almost 20 years.  He is a good man, a solid Republican and a principled conservative.  We know that he shares our values and our commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency in state government.  Richard understands the importance of fiscal discipline and, more importantly, has been fighting for the principles that we believe in.

Richard has been elected to the Legislature 13 times in both good and bad political years and during his tenure has never supported a broad based tax increase – never.  In fact, he has always been a strong anti-tax voice.  Most recently, he led the fight against the sales tax increase and the corporate tax increase and received a rating of 100% from Citizens for Limited Taxation.

He has always supported the death penalty and has authored and fought for many proposals to address the problem of illegal immigration.  He has been a great defender of 2nd Amendment Rights and has an A+ rating from the NRA and GUN Owners Action League.

Richard owns a small business and understands that we need to make Massachusetts more affordable for our citizens and make our business climate more competitive.  He has earned the highest ratings from groups like the Massachusetts chapter of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, which closely monitors legislators’ voting records on key spending and business-related issues.

Richard has been an active Republican since joining his local republican Town Committee at age 18.  He has been a state and national delegate to our Conventions.  Over the years, he has worked for countless GOP candidates and has always been there when the party needed him, in good times and bad.

We represent diverse areas of the state and disagree on an issue from time to time, but we all agree that Richard Tisei will make a great Lieutenant Governor.  He will be a great spokesman for our party and will make us proud, now and in the future.

Richard deserves our support not just with your vote, but also your actions.

Please join with us in supporting him by visiting his campaign website at to see how you can best assist him.
