CALL NOW!!! ObamaCare Abortion Vote to be at 1 AM on Monday!

I woke up this morning to see this action alert from the Massachusetts Family Institute.  Pro-lifers and those who simply oppose budget busting Ponzi schemes that includes a sweetheart deal for Sen. Ben Nelson & the State of Nebraska then may want to follow up with a phone call or two to our US Senators.

Dear Friends,

Please see the alert below from our friends at Massachusetts Citizens for Life about the upcoming health care vote and take action during the day on Sunday!

For our families,

Kris Mineau

Subject: Action alert! Nelson caves! Abortion vote 1 AM Monday morning!

It is critical that you call Senators Kerry, 202-224-2742, and Kirk, 202-224-4543, at least ONCE before the 1 AM cloture vote on Sunday night/Monday morning! As of 9:29pm on Saturday, Kirk’s mailbox is full .  When you call on Sunday, if it is still full, you may want to call his home, 508-428-5294, to leave your message – the vote is Sunday night!

One of our members from Framingham was told on Friday by Kirk’s aide that Kirk had received 255 calls in favor of abortion funding and only 95 calls against.  That must be reversed!

Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE) has publicly caved on a abortion “compromise” – after being promised

tens of millions of dollars of federal Medicaid funds for his home state.

The abortion “compromise” does NOT contain language similar to the Stupak amendment approved by the House which restricted government funding of abortion.

It still contains the monthly abortion fee and allows states to opt out of providing abortion coverage.  So MA taxpayers will pay for the abortions in Massachusetts and for the abortions in opt-out states.

The bottom line: contrary to long standing policy, the federal government will be forcing YOU to subsidize

private health insurance plans that cover abortion — resulting in the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade.

Harry Reid believes he now has the 60 votes needed to move the abortion-laden health care bill forward. He has scheduled the all-important CLOTURE VOTE to end debate for 1 AM late Sunday night/Monday morning.

*** ACTION ALERT ***

It is IMPERATIVE that you call Senators Kerry, 202-224-2742, and Kirk, 202-224-4543!

Tell them, “abortion is NOT health care!” If you wait until Monday morning it will be too late!

This is a CALL-ONLY alert because less than 48 hours remain before the Senate votes.

Thank you for your dedication!

About Brock N. Cordeiro

  • Maybe its me, but does anyone else feel uncomfortable with the around the clock approach to passing legislation that will affect 16+% of the nation’s economy?

In other lines of work there are restrictions on how many hours you can work without having to take a required rest break including:

    1) Airline pilots and flight crews who have to stop working when they reach certain limits (having been on a flight that had to be canceled for crew rest it is an annoyance, but understandable for all our safety),

    2) Truck drivers who can only drive for so long before they too have to take a break for their safety as well as the safety of everyone else on the road,

    3) ER doctors who can only work so many consecutive hours and so many hours in a specified period of time.  I also believe that Mass General has received some bad press for breaking these rules recently.  Again, restrictions to protect the people they serve and keep them on top of their game, and

    4) Certain law enforcement officers who have rest requirements, after all they carry a gun and need to be vigilant.

I am sure that there are many other such examples.

The point is, shouldn’t the people seeking to reform / rewrite almost 1/5 of our economy be required to take a break, catch a nap and be on top of their games when making these decisions?
