State spending $29M to build nothing

Eric Dahlberg beat us to the punch on this one.  According to the Boston Business Journal:

The state is spending $29 million to design a new subway tunnel under Boston but has no plans to break ground for at least a generation, the Boston Globe reports.

The paper says the engineering work is being done as part of a deal with environmentalists.

I’m so glad we’re raising taxes for this.
